Mr & Mrs _______

It still seems so odd to me when you get married you lose your name and identity and adopt your husbands. it seems unfair honestly. Say I married a dude named John Smith…they would announce us as Mr & Mrs John Smith. I have no name, I am his property.It’s odd and seems outdated to me. I have a lot of accomplishments tied to my name but I lose them all when I get married. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t want to ever get married or that I hate men etc. but I hate that system of doing it. When women keep their last name they get treated differently I promise you. They get asked why they would do that to their husband when he probably doesn’t mind. Just some thoughts.
